By Service Line — Audit & Assurance

Modernizing how
attest work gets done.

Audit partners, quality directors, and senior managers leading audit and assurance practices — navigating new standards, talent shortages, automation, and the question of what an audit practice looks like in five years.

What we’re focused on
  • Risk-based audit methodology and quality — building the right approach for the right client, and defending it in peer review.
  • Audit automation and data analytics in the field — what's actually changing how teams work, not what's being marketed.
  • Single audits, employee benefit plans, and specialty engagements — the work that's hard to staff and harder to price.
  • Talent — the audit pipeline crisis and what firms are actually doing about it.
  • Standards updates and the changing peer review landscape — staying ahead without overbuilding.
  • Realization and engagement economics — protecting margin on fixed-fee and lower-margin audit work.
Sharing notes on AI-assisted workpaper review tools in production, benchmarking realization on EBP and single audits, and working through the practical implications of recent SAS releases on smaller firm practices.
AI & Tech in This Council

Every Audit & Assurance session includes a working block on AI and technology — AI-assisted workpaper review, data analytics in the field, automated risk assessment, and how tooling changes audit quality and staffing models. This is not treated as a future-state curiosity; it's what firms are deploying right now.

Meeting Cadence

Two working sessions per year — focused, agenda-driven, peer-led — plus a dedicated Audit track at the annual Insight summit and async member discussions in between.
